Unfortunately, much of this past remains unknown to the world due to a lack of translation. translateNepal is an initiative dedicated to bridging this gap and bringing Nepali literature to the global stage.
Beyond Borders is an annual print journal that presents classic and contemporary Nepali literature through translation. It features poems, stories, essays, and dramas by renowned Nepali writers. translateNepal collaborates with SATHI, a publication house based in Kathmandu, to publish locally.
ANUVAAD is a periodic blog dedicated to translating and publishing select works by Nepali writers. It features poems, essays, stories, children's literature, dramas, and other works of literary importance.
Jayant Sharma is a writer, editor, and literary translator who mainly works in the Nepali-English language pair. With over two dozen translated literary works, he advocates for the global recognition of Nepali literature. He served as the executive editor of SATHI, an English literary magazine that actively promotes Nepali literature through translations, and is the founder of translateNEPAL, an initiative that highlights Nepal's literary presence on the global stage. Jayant makes regular contributions to South-Asian journals on topics related to Nepali arts, culture, and literature. He is also the author of 'To Whom It May Concern,' a poetry collection published in Australia.
